Gas prices at the pump are hard to ignore, and filling up on your way to work is unavoidable. But fuel costs don’t have to follow you through the warehouse door. Big Joe’s integrated lithium forklifts help eliminate those expenses where you actually can control them — inside your facility.

“Fuel costs don’t have to follow you through the warehouse door.”

The technology was on full display at MODEX 2026, where Big Joe announced the LPX40. The new model is Big Joe’s 4,000-pound capacity Class 1 pneumatic forklift designed for outdoor applications and rough surfaces. Built with heavy-duty pneumatic tires and integrated lithium power, the LPX40 brings electric capability to environments traditionally dominated by propane and diesel. For customers watching fuel costs climb, it’s a direct path to predictable operating expenses.

How Integrated Lithium Works

Unlike traditional lead-acid electrics that require battery rooms, dedicated charging infrastructure, and scheduled battery swaps, Big Joe’s integrated lithium system is built into the truck. The battery charges from any standard 120/240V outlet during breaks and shift changes — a process called opportunity charging. Regenerative braking captures energy during operation, extending runtime and reducing electricity costs further.

The result is equipment that runs 20+ hours daily in demanding 24/7 operations while eliminating fuel costs entirely. Customers converting from propane and diesel are documenting $6,000 or more in annual savings per truck with no engine oil, filters, spark plugs, or emissions to manage. Unlike fluctuating fuel prices, electricity costs are stable and predictable, making budgeting straightforward.

Why It Matters for Your Operation

Big Joe’s lithium lineup now spans the full range of material handling applications: walkie pallet trucks and stackers for warehouse operations, counterbalance forklifts like the LCE50 for manufacturing and distribution, and now the LPX40 for outdoor and mixed-environment facilities. Shoppa’s supports every unit with factory-trained technicians, genuine parts, and planned maintenance programs.
